Dear Parent or Guardian

If you have a child joining us for the first time, we welcome you and look forward to having a happy and successful partnership with you during the coming years. If you already have a child with us, we are pleased that we can renew and strengthen the links between us.

Our aim is to give your child a first class education in a happy, well disciplined community which provides for all abilities and makes every effort to enable each child to achieve their best.

Sidemoor First School is a Community First School for boys and girls aged 3 - 9.  Children are admitted to Reception in the September of the year in which they become five.  The school is organised into classes of mainly the same age and mixed ability. Children are taught by a class teacher who is responsible for all aspects of their education.

Our spacious 21^st Century school building opened in April 2007. It is set in extensive grounds which include hard surface playgrounds, a large playing field, a forest school area and a dipping pond.

We have a nursery, ten classrooms, a large multi-purpose hall, small group areas, a library and an ICT suite. Each area of our school is light and airy and well furnished and resourced. In addition to the ICT suite, each classroom has a computer, video recorder, DVD and listening centre. All classrooms have interactive whiteboards.
